Free monthly meet-ups

Welcoming photographers of all levels to come together, share ideas, and enjoy a relaxed day of shooting. These gatherings take place in various UK cities—most often Cambridge, London, and Newcastle—and offer a great chance to explore new locations, get inspired by others, and build lasting connections within the community.

On the first Saturday of every month at 1pm, Social Photography hosts a relaxed, informal meet-up for photographers of all skill levels and camera types — whether you’re using a DSLR, mirrorless, or simply your phone.

What You Need to Know:

  • No sign-up required — just turn up! If you’d like to let us know you’re coming, message @uksocialphotography on Instagram.

  • Bring a camera (or even just a sign saying Social Photography to help others find you).

  • These are not structured workshops — they’re designed to encourage networking, creativity, and connection.

  • Share your images and feedback after the meet & join our private WhatsApp community where you can keep in touch with local creatives.

  • Meet-ups are completely free and open to everyone — whether you’re new to photography or have years of experience.

    A nice mixture of informal and yet structured. The tips for starting point composition / settings was really useful, and in the style that meant we could also experiment and bring our own take on it. Gave me a taste for subject material on which I can build. Also was nice to chat photography with like minded people in a relaxed setting, there was no competition or rivalry, everyone trying to help each other.

    Hi Daniel, Thank you for an amazing photo walk yesterday. Learnt lots of techniques and it was great to other fellow photographers. All in all a great experience. Can't wait for the next event!
